Abstract

The device referred to in this document is a prototype that provides useful information to persons with visual disabilities, who are mobilized within the facilities of a public or private entity or institution. The aim of the project is for the visually impaired person to receive through audio information about the areas around them, leaving the user’s decision on the path to take and the means used for their daily mobilization (avoidance of obstacles).

The information points are connected to the central from where the information is sent to the device of the users informing about what they have around them. The device has a volume control by means of two buttons and a button to request help from the central system. In addition to this the device has a vibrator which will be activated when the device disconnects from the Wi-Fi network.
